Police are required after the execution of a search warrant to create an inventory record of the items that have been seized during a search. This is for protection of the owner as well as for the police. It must not be used as a tool to create a chain of evidence in order to build a case against a person subject to the search warrant. You have the right to request a copy of the inventory of items seized.
